Shropshire Council has launched a £150,000 fund to make it easier for people in the county to improve their local area, to a room packed full of representatives from the voluntary and community sector at Wem Town Hall last Wednesday.
If you weren’t able to attend the event or would like to share the presentations, you can download a copy of the of the slides, and view the video of the event here.
Here is also a link to a video from Spacehive giving you an example of how crowdfunding can transform communities.
As discussed at the launch, there will be various workshops offered at different locations across Shropshire in November for organisations who are interested in pitching a project through the Spacehive platform. There will also be one held online in October.
These workshops will cover:
- Hear about funding available to help make your ideas happen.
- Get advice on creating your project and how to run an amazing crowdfunding campaign.
- Join interactive discussions to access specialised support for your project
Organisations can attend these workshops if they are interested in learning more about how to apply for 60% of project costs, up to a maximum £10,000 match funding through the UKSPF Community and Place fund, or if they want to just start a crowdfunding project on its own.
Registered and unregistered charities and community groups, as well as CICs are encouraged to attend the workshops, and all groups should bring with them some details of the projects they are thinking of pitching so they can work on them during the session.
Please use this booking link to attend an online workshop hosted by Spacehive on 26th of October from 2-3pm.
Please use this booking link to choose your in-person workshop date and location in November, supported by Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership Voluntary and Community Support Team.
