Through the Doorway – Free Art Courses

Through the Doorway to Healthy Living are putting on a number of courses starting in September.  These courses are free and part of the BBO Programme.

Get Creative

Our 10-week arts and crafts course will give you time to relax, have fun and meet
other people while doing a variety of arts and crafts. You will get the chance to try lots
of different techniques such as painting, drawing, collage and pastels in a fun and
relaxed environment, or you may just wish to do one or two things – the choice is
yours. No previous experience is necessary – this course is suitable for total
beginners as well as those with more experience.

Venue: The Gateway Education and Arts Centre
Date and time: Starting Tuesday 14 September 2021, 10.00 -12.00

Lino Printing

Our 10-week Lino printing course will take you through the entire process of
producing a lino print from first ideas to finished product. Using nature and other
printmakers as inspiration you will be able to experiment with different textures and
colours and develop your own individual style to create original artworks or perhaps
design your own Christmas cards or decorations. As sharp cutting tools are used, you
must be willing and able to follow appropriate safety guidelines.

Venue: The Gateway Education and Arts Centre
Date and time: Starting Monday 13 September 2021, 10.00 – 12.00

To be eligible for the courses  you must be unemployed (not in work but looking for work) or economically inactive (not in work and not currently looking for work) but would
like to look for work in the future. You must also have the right to live and work in
the UK. Everything is provided so all you need to do is turn up, but BOOKING IS
ESSENTIAL so that we can provide enough equipment.

If you are unable to attend the first session you will still be able to join in weeks 2 or 3.
