New Chief Constable for West Mercia Police
Pippa Mills has been officially confirmed as the next Chief Constable of West Mercia Police. Pippa is currently the Essex Deputy Chief Constable and will bring a wealth of experience from her service in Essex and the Metropolitan Police. Pippa will take up her role in September 2021, as current Chief Constable Anthony Bangham retires after 30 years of service.
Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner
Tracey Onslow has been confirmed to continue her post as Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner. Tracey has been Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner since August 2016. She has worked hard over the last 5 years and John Campion, West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner has made a public announcement to confirm Tracey’s ongoing role. Commissioner John Campion said “Tracey has proven herself over the last five years, engaging with communities, being a strong voice for the public and making a significant impact in making our three counties safer. She is hard working, diligent and enthusiastic. She has, and will continue to work alongside me to continue to build communities that are safe, secure and reassured. ”
Police and Crime Commissioner, John Campion has responded to feedback asking for the police force to be more visible and accessible. One of the methods being used to achieve greater accessibility is the launch of Neighbourhood Matters; a new community messaging service. It allows people to sign up for local police alerts, receive information about crime in your local area and access the latest updates.
