Well-being and Befriending Officer
Salary: £12,400 actual
Hours: part-time 3 days per week.
Initially a 6 month fixed-term contract. Expected to continue subject to funding
Oswestry Community Action, Qube is an independent charity serving the community across North Shropshire. There is an exciting opportunity to join the wonderful Qube team and support those in our community who may be lonely and isolated.
The purpose of this role is to reduce isolation in the community by providing befriending and social opportunities, where people can meet, make friends, join in activities, have fun and eat cake.
Working mainly, but not exclusively with older people, the successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working within the community and a knowledge and understanding about some of the issues people face. Applicants will also need to have experience of working with volunteers. This post requires an organised, can-do attitude together with the ability to communicate and empathise with a wide range of individuals.
This role is part-time and initially a fixed term contract for 6 months with the expectation that it will continue subject to funding.

Wellbeing Service Development Officers (2)
£21,219 per annum (pro rata)
Post 1: Shrewsbury & North Shropshire (30 hours per week)
Post 2: South Shropshire (22.5 hours per week)

Age UK STW is looking for two people to join its small, experienced team to help take these services forward, one post based in Shrewsbury and the other in Ludlow. You will have excellent knowledge of services for older people and a track record of developing new groups and activities, as well as working with volunteers. You will need excellent networking skills and a demonstrable commitment to wellbeing in older age.
