Expressions of Interest – Super Primary Care Centre

Expressions of Interest – Super Primary Care Centre

Would your organisation be interested in getting involved in a proposal to establish a super primary care centre in South Shrewsbury?

Would you benefit from using or booking space in a GP/ Primary Care setting?

NHS England has a vision to pilot the model of a super practice (a model similar to the Peterborough Cavell Centre). Shropshire is 1 of 4 areas nationally to be invited to take part in working up proposals. Over the coming weeks/months, work will be taking place to propose a super primary care centre in South Shrewsbury. The timescales for this national programme mean any bid would need to be submitted in the New Year with successful applications progressing in 2023/24. Please see the attached document which provides a little more background information.

Interest from local voluntary and community sector organisations will be collated. Once contact details are provided, options for engagement (such as participation in partnership meetings) can be pursued by the project leads.

If you would like to find out more about this work, or would be interested in booking space at, and making links with, a super GP practice please confirm the following details in an email to

  • Organisation name
  • Brief explanation of services provided and nature of interest in the work
  • How you can see your organisation/service getting involved
  • Contact Name
  • Email and telephone
  • Website link

Details will be collated and shared with the project leads so by emailing this information you are confirming you are happy for the CCG, Shropshire Council (and STP partners) to use this information for the super primary care centre project. Please express your interest as soon as possible. It would be helpful to have your expression of interest by Friday 22nd January 2021, (although any interest after this date will also be forwarded on to project contact Caroline Reid-Smith).
