University of Chester Volunteering and Mentoring team

The University’s Volunteering and Mentoring team support students to volunteer during their time at University. Students volunteer for a variety of different reasons; doing something different; developing life skills and experiences; getting involved in the local community etc.

They work with a wide range of charities to offer students volunteer opportunities in a variety of areas which are available to view and apply for on our website. We also advertise one-off opportunities and events through our social media channels.

Some of the opportunities their students have volunteered with this year include bucket collections for Macmillan and CLIC Sargent, planting trees with Wild Ground, helping at local Park Runs and even setting up their own Student Dog Walking project, to help local residents who are injured, ill or elderly, walk their beloved dogs.

If your charity, not-for-profit, or community interest company local to University Centre Shrewsbury, would like to advertise volunteer opportunities to students, please visit the ‘Provider Area’ to register with us; www.volunteering.chester.ac.uk. Once this has been set up, you can manage your volunteer opportunities, and these will be advertised to students using the website.

They can also talk with a representative from your organisation to discuss your volunteer opportunities and how these can be advertised to students. If you would like to arrange a phone call, or ask any questions about registering or working with students, please do get in touch by emailing volunteering@chester.ac.uk.

You can also find them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by searching for @UoCVolunteering
