Essential Conversations Course 21.03.2019
9am – 4.30pm Haydn Smith Room, Theatre Severn
We all find ourselves handling awkward, even unpleasant, conversations from time to time. An ‘essential conversation’ can help you to avoid unnecessary costs associated with underperforming staff, as well as disciplinary and grievance procedures…
This practical and effective one-day course is designed to help delegates develop the essential tools, knowledge, and techniques required to effectively address performance issues with staff before they can escalate further.
- Explore the range of strategies used to manage awkward conversations
- Understanding the needs of difficult or challenging people
- Choosing your words carefully and using other communications techniques, including active listening
- The importance of assertiveness not aggressiveness
- Recognising when an awkward conversation is likely to escalate
