Mike Ridley, Chairman of Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, is retiring as Chair of the Trust Board at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust at the end of the year, and the Trust is looking to recruit a successor.
This is an exciting time for community health services, with the national and local focus turning to new models of care and an opportunity for community services to shape the future of healthcare in our system. Chairing the Board at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust will be an exceptional opportunity to lead and help shape some innovative changes to models of care that will transform services and improve lives.
Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is a small community Trust providing a wide range of services to people in Shropshire and Telford, together with Children’s services in Dudley. Staff work is to keep people well, out of crisis, independent and living the lives they want to live in their local communities.
The Trust is looking for a chair with a range of board level leadership experience who wants to use his or her energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. The role is suitable for candidates from diverse backgrounds who can apply their experience from different sectors, as well as from health, to this demanding role.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong commitment and leadership ability in working collaboratively with stakeholders, partners and staff to deliver change. They will have an affinity with communities and bring robust and visible leadership.
Applicants should live in or have strong connections with the Shropshire area. On average this role will require the equivalent of 2 to 3 days a week, including preparation time away from the Trust.
