Post: Insight and VCS Engagement Officer

Salary Range: Grade 10, SCP 32-34 (£27,486 to £29,095)
Duration: 24 months fixed term

In partnership with Shropshire VCS Assembly, Shropshire Council’s Feedback and Insight Team are seeking to recruit an Insight and VCS Engagement Officer based within Shropshire Council’s Information, Intelligence and Insight Unit. The focus is upon bringing together information, intelligence, and insight to inform learning and service improvement.
The Insight and VCS Engagement Officer is a key role that focuses on understanding and interpreting feedback from customers, communities, providers and partners. The role involves identifying gaps in feedback and insights and recommending and carrying out activities to close those gaps. To fulfil this role the post holder will need to work with front line services, providers and partners. The post holder will require good team working skills. An important responsibility for the Insight and VCS Engagement Officer is working on behalf of Shropshire Council to support the Shropshire Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly. The VCS Assembly has a membership of around 300 voluntary sector groups and organisations and works in partnership with Shropshire’s public sector organisations.
We are looking for someone with good organisational skills and experience in project management. The role would be suitable for someone who enjoys working with people, and building networks and contacts with different groups and organisations. Political awareness and emotional intelligence are key skills for the role, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Central to the role will be the ability to organise engagement activity, carry out research and surveys and interpret and report on findings.
