South Shropshire Social Prescribing Development Officer
Temporary 1 year contract – Secondment or employment considered
Salary £19,700 per annum, 30 hours per week
Based at Mayfair Community Centre, Church Stretton
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the south of Shropshire for a Development Officer to facilitate the development and delivery of social prescribing as it rolls out across the county. Social Prescribing is a non-medical intervention designed to help people make a positive change in their lives to improve their health and well-being. The role will entail building VCSE networks, liaising with GPs and other local stakeholders and organising events to promote social prescribing.
Working across sectors and a wide geographical area this post requires a can-do attitude and excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan ahead while remaining flexible to meet the needs of others. It is essential that the post holder has a good knowledge of the voluntary sector and has the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals.
Full training will be given but applicants must be computer literate and able to drive, with their own car.
